effect of age and font on reading ability

To inform our knowledge of the typographical variables stroke weight, letter width, and spacing, their effects on different age groups reading scenarios, we used Radner Reading Chart, where measured speed at sizes, to compare fonts KBH Text, Display, Gill Sans Light. The experiment showed that for older participants, resulted in faster compared Text. However, could not be recognized small sizes by either younger or participants. For critical print size (CPS), participants were better a regular when text was set Text than it Sans. findings indicate readers are more sensitive font legibility differences readers. We discuss implications scenarios putting demands as well perspective benefitting from certain visual qualities fonts.
